Content Creation & Electronic Learning Community

Improving teachers’ access to high-quality educational content and the effective deployment of these resources in learning and teaching is necessary if ICT is to have a positive impact on curriculum performance.

Can SMJK Dindings create high quality, interactive digital curriculum for online delivery on demand to stimulate learning at anytime and anywhere? In actual fact, it is beyond the capability of SMJK Dindings to achieve it without cooperation and involvement of both the public and private sectors. SMJK Dindings has the necessary ICT infrastructure to deliver the digital content but is still lacking in quantity and quality. However, steps have been taken to facilitate digital publishing in the future. Test questions and teaching notes are digitized and stored in appropriate folders in the file server for reference and to be downloaded by teachers and students. Through ICT training programs, teachers and students are trained in web publishing, hopefully more quality digital materials can be created.

The idea of twinning with other schools to collaborate on the Internet in Malaysia or other countries to create electronic learning communities should be encouraged. It promotes the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at schools. Teachers and students can use the Internet to work together across borders. They cooperate, exchange information and share learning materials. It broadens the scope of the pedagogical opportunities that are offered to teachers and students, motivates learning and tears down the walls of classrooms among those participating schools.
